Travels by Narrowboat – "The Call of Nature" – S08E14

The town of Stone on the Trent & Mersey Canal, has been my stop for the past 5 days. Now the weekend arrives and it’s time for Aslan and I to continue onward, towards Great Haywood Junction.

After taking a brief look around Stone, we move on and head for the tiny village of Weston-Upon-Trent.

Having originally intended to do the 2 locks before Weston and then moor up, I decide on a whim to cut the journey short and instead moor for the night, at a fabulously beautiful, peaceful and rural location.

Moving on the next day, I travel through the outer edges of Weston, passing one or two gorgeous and ‘exclusive’ houses – later dropping down through 2 locks. At the second lock, I’m greeted by a viewer, bearing gifts.

The episode ends whilst I’m passing and admiring our great British union flag . . .
