Gatwick will cut flights over the summer holidays while Heathrow’s boss has told Sky News it will take 18 months for the industry to return to normal.
Gatwick said it was limiting its number of daily flights to 825 in July and 850 in August.
It said the decision would allow passengers to “experience a more reliable and better standard of service”.
The airline industry laid off thousands of staff during the COVID pandemic and has been unable to return to capacity, leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights
