Four big businesses in the travel industry are set to unite for an advertising campaign ahead of the Queensland election to call for a re-think on the state’s tough border restrictions.
Normally fierce rivals, airlines Qantas and Virgin, and travel agencies Flight Centre and Hello World, to argue the human cost of lockdowns is too high to justify.
They say the social side effects of closed businesses and lost jobs haven’t properly factored into the Palaszczuk government’s decision.
