Limitations on outbound international travel from Australia extended | 7NEWS

Aussies wanting to head overseas for holidays will have to wait even longer after the government today recommended extending the human biosecurity emergency period by an extra three months.

The human biosecurity emergency period, under the Biosecurity Act 2015, has placed limitations on the movement of cruise vessels, limitations on outbound international travel and restrictions on the operation of retail stores at international airports since the 18th March 2020.

The Governor General is expected to sign-off on the government’s recommendation this week – this will see the emergency period extended to the 17th March 2021.
